Wayne Hofmann, President and Co-Founder of Great Lakes Bay
Born and raised in the Great Lakes Bay Region, Wayne is committed to forging partnerships across boundaries to make our communities thrive and prosper. With a background that includes engineering, community planning, construction, and project finance, he seeks to bring insight, resources and relationships together to solve problems and fulfill community needs.
He serves as Michigan Project Director for LocalCode, a socially conscious company seeking to spur regenerative economies across the Nation through physical redevelopment, strengthening local businesses, and encouraging local ownership.
Wayne enjoys service in community organizations, including serving as a Past President of the Great Lake Bay Economic Club, past-Chair for Bay Future, Inc., and as past-Chair for the Saginaw Basin Land Conservancy.
Jenifer Acosta, Vice President and Co-Founder of Infuse Great Lakes Bay
Jenifer Acosta, a developer known for redeveloping historic buildings and her work in community development. As faculty for the Incremental Development Alliance, Jenifer teaches small-scale real estate development. Jenifer earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Southern Illinois University and a master’s degree in international administration and sustainable development from the University of Miami. She also holds a New York University graduate certificate in real estate development. Jenifer’s projects have received awards in historic preservation and economic development. She’s been recognized as a RUBY award recipient and a changemaker.
Jenifer founded Jenifer Acosta Development, a real estate development company that provides services ranging from planning, feasibility studies and property acquisition to owners’ representation and construction management. She serves on the ULI Michigan Local Product Council for Housing and Community Development, the Michigan Municipal League Foundation, ULI Michigan’s Women’s Leadership Initiative, Midland Center for the Arts, City Market, and the SVSU Foundation.
Founded in 1978 the Great Lakes Bay Economic Club (GLBEC) encourages the exchange of ideas on economics, business, and policy. Members of the GLBEC forum addresses a wide range of economic issues affecting the Great Lakes Bay Region. The GLBEC achieves this by having meetings with high-profile speakers that initiate members to interact and network allowing the cultivation and collaboration of economic knowledge. Together we serve as a major source of discussion on a wide range of public issues and together we promote the study and exchange of ideas on social, economic, and political topics.
